I shop this store several times a week. I worked in the grocery business for 20 years ran grocery stores and also was Deli Bakery supervisor for a big chain. It's very unusual that the store does not cater to the customer it's like the customer is last. I've asked several times for items if they could get them and they have them at one time and I understand that stuff is discontinued and there's nothing you can do about that. When you got a four foot shelf of nothing but sardines of several kinds and you would love some smoked oysters and they tell you you can't get any. Don't believe that and I know in the grocery business variety is what it's all about so if you want me to shop there you might want to try to find some of those things and go from there. I also asked for some role Italian sausage in the meat department and I was told that they could not get any I don't understand it when I work the business we always try to get everything we could for our customer I don't think it's changed much but you know I guess you're the only dog in town. It won't be long with that attitude that you won't be there it's all about service and y'all from corporate and whoever gets this hey there's some great people that work there I go there just because of some of those people. I was told several times way back and I think they've got it corrected now in the deli because I shop religiously every Saturday morning and I shop early because there's things I want to get and get home put it in a crock pot and have it be done for dinner time and I was told we don't sell any lunch meat before 10 and I thought you know what if you were my employee when I ran stores you wouldn't be employed by me you got to be kidding me you're not going to sell lunch meat and the highest in the highest gross profit area of the whole store I know they put Deli bakeries first because they make 50 - 60%and you're going to refuse business to a customer because I'm busy setting up well I'll tell you this that is BS and they did get that corrected but that's the kind of stuff that goes on in Darien Bi-Lo they got to get their s*** together sorry. Are they're going to lose a loyal customer me. I hope it all works out cuz there are some great people there but service if I was writing from a 1/2 a 10 I would say you're lucky if you're at 5 my stores would have put you to shame. Good luck and hope you take care of some of these situations and make customer service your number one thing because that's all you have in the grocery business you can buy me potatoes eggs beer anywhere but service is what it's all about. Friendly staff and a clean store. Great for quick trips for groceries. Selection is slightly limited but this store has most products that the larger grocery chains carry. A little pricey but worth it when you have a short list and do not want to travel 25 miles for Milk....
When things are on sale you can usually get a great deal!
Rude management. Bilo does not honor coupons on their site and instead of helping me they rudely told me to contact the 800 number there was nothing she could do for me. My daughter has cancer so I'm trying to save any way I can. If you have an attitude with the customer you are in the wrong business especially as a manager. High turnover of employees, always someone new at the registers. Unfortunately this is a small town and I have 3 babies it's hard for me to drive to the next town for groceries especially with a baby and a sick child.
